FOOD DRYING TECHNOLOGY
Drying technologies are used to remove moisture from your product. Energy or heat can be delivered directly through the use of hot air or gas, or indirectly through the use of a heating medium. The type of drier you need depends on the product you're drying and the production line's flow requirements.
What drying equipment do you need?
Selecting the Right Drying Equipment
You have a clear idea of what you want to do with your product. However, have you checked the product's moisture content, consistency, particle size and distribution, temperature resistance, and porosity? Depending on your product's qualities, you may want to explore direct or indirect heating, freeze or vacuum drying, continuous fluid bed or belt dryers. For powders, granules, pastes, and slurries, we have experience with a wide range of innovative drying equipment and technologies. JOG International would be delighted to assist you in determining the best drying method for your manufacturing facility.

Vanilla Dryer General Specifications

Our range of dryers is aimed to help co-operatives, food producers and exporters looking to process vanilla in a new and highly efficient way. Our International standard dryers offer consistency of produce for our customers and speed up traditional practices while maintaining the very highest level of quality.
Using traditional methods green vanilla beans straight from the pods are laid out on mats in the sun to dry or cure, but this takes from 3-6 months depending on moisture content and where you are. JOG Vanilla Dryers use heat pump technology to achieve “quick curing” which allows amazingly better results – it takes just 1-3 days. It is a remarkable difference.

All of our Dryers also include the followings parts.

How It Works?
01
The beans come in from the fields green off the pods.
03
Some clients cut beans into 1-2 inch pieces using a JOG industrial bean cutting machine and then transfer to trays.
05
They are then removed and prepared for storage or packing.
02
They are then placed on stainless steel trays which are in turn placed on stainless steel trolleys.
04
Vanilla beans are then dried for 24-72 hours in the quick drying units. Depending on the start and finish moisture content required.
06
As a final process clients often use a JOG metal detector as a quality step before shipping to clients.
